Tourism on Silk Road. Common strategy of development
In October, 2013 UNWTO and UNESCO have organized the conference that was devoted to promoting a common strategy for the development of tourism corridors of Silk Road heritage in Central Asia and China.
The meeting took place in the form of a working session as introduction to implementing an overall strategy for the promoting historical and cultural uniqueness of Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries.
Silk Road is of great interest to all the countries along this historic transcontinental highway that allows enhancing the role of tourism development to showcase the rich cultural heritage.
The main goal of this project is to preserve the unique inheritance of the region.In particular, one of the important issues of the programis to simplify the formalities of tourism and the introduction of a single tourist visa for foreign visitors who travel on the Silk Road countries.
This issue will also be one of the top in the upcoming fourth meeting in a row, organized by UNWTO, which will be held next March in an international tourism fair in Berlin - ITB Berlin 2014.
