The monument of Alisher Navoi in China

In the Shanghai University was held a solemn ceremony of "foundation stone" of a monument to Alisher Navoi.

The rector of Shanghai University Lee Wei expressed his happiness about the perpetuation of the memory of the great Uzbek poet and statesman of the territory of China.

Installation of the monument to Alisher Navoi will symbolize the long history of cultural and humanitarian exchanges and friendship between the two peoples. In addition, in September was signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tashkent State Economic University and the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies between countries.

This could enhance the intercultural relations between China and Uzbekistan.
